Collections

I have hundreds of these vintage book pages filled with drawings of animals and plants and fungi. I also have a lot of Audubon books. We've been fortunate in finding them at flea markets and thrift stores and estate sales. When we move to a bigger place, I'd like to get those flat file cabinets for my vintage prints.

Aside from vintage books and prints, I collect sewing machines. I have 8 and all but one are super old. I also have a big fabric stash, which I need to organize by color. It doesn't help that I live close to a 2-dollar fabric scrap shop and that Britex Fabrics is at a walking distance. Aaaaaa!

What are your collections?

  1. I also collect species identification and other old science books. I have to limit myself to one bookshelf or they may take over the place! Yarn and vintage buttons seem to find their way to my place too; as well as unwanted plants from the greenhouse where I work. :)

    Adorable blog!

  3. I love Audubon and other old picture reference books. I buy them, thinking the pictures would be nice to frame, but can't bring myself to take out the pages! I'm afraid I collect too much--books, fabric, buttons, vintage kitchen 'things.' Pretty much anything that strikes my fancy!

  4. Dawn-I'm the same way. I can't tear books. I get too attached.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who collects knick knacks :)

  5. Isn't it funny how one link leads to another? I have been looking for info on french lace that I have wanted to sell. I could not find a price for something comparable anywhere.
I followed your link to Bristex and they have just what I have been looking for. Thanks.......
